Lawrence R. Woehrle practices in the area of civil litigation with a particular emphasis on civil rights and employment law.  He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Employment Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and has been recognized by his peers as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" in the field of employment litigation.

Mr. Woehrle has represented individuals, national corporations, local employers and financial institutions in a wide variety of employment lawsuits, including claims for sexual harassment, age discrimination, race discrimination, sex discrimination, disability discrimination, religious discrimination, "whistleblower" claims and defamation.  He has successfully litigated those claims in the federal and state courts of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.

Mr. Woehrle also regularly counsels employers with respect to their compliance with federal and state employment legislation, in addition to advising clients on the implementation of policies to reduce or prevent costly litigation by employees.  He has frequently spoken to business groups, including The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, on practical, cost-effective ways to avoid, and prevail in, lawsuits by employees.

Mr. Woehrle joined Sprague & Sprague in 2002 after 16 years as a litigator with Monteverde, McAlee & Hurd, P.C.  He previously served as law clerk to the Honorable Alfred J. DiBona, Jr., of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas and is admitted to the Bars of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Mr. Woehrle obtained his law degree in 1983 from The National Law Center of The George Washington University, and is a graduate of Villanova University (B.A., cum laude, 1980).
