            When a taxpayer brought a class action challenging a county’s procedures in tax appeals relating to a county tax, Sprague & Sprague successfully represented the county in having the case dismissed.

            The Firm successfully defended a private development company and its officers and directors in a putative class action, civil rights lawsuit by citizens of a locality for allegedly violating the citizens’ constitutional rights in connection with the approval process for a development.

            We represented on appeal a large multinational manufacturer against whom a judgment had been entered in a class action with over $50 million at stake. We succeeded on appeal in persuading the appellate court to not only reverse the judgment, but to order the trial court to decertify the class.

            The Firm served as appellate counsel in successfully upholding a trial court’s ruling in favor of class action plaintiffs, which the class’ receipt of millions of dollars as fair compensation upon the complicated conversion of a large mutual insurance company to a for-profit entity.
