involving the wrongful death of a 76 year old man who underwent colo-rectal
surgery and subsequently developed a total breakdown of his anastomosis
(the surgical connection of his small bowel), resulting in septic shock,
a severe stroke and ultimately his death. A state court jury returned a
verdict in favor of the Firm's client in the amount of $6.5 million, one
of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the state for the
wrongful death of a person more than 75 years old.
