Sprague & Sprague successfully tried a neurosurgical, medical
malpractice case involving the wrongful death of a young mother of two
children. A seven figure recovery was secured for the children following a
trial and appeals by opposing parties through Pennsylvania’s state
courts.
The Firm successfully tried a medical malpractice case involving the
wrongful death of a 76 year old man who underwent colo-rectal surgery
and subsequently developed a total breakdown of his anastomosis (the
surgical connection of his small bowel), resulting in septic shock, a
severe stroke and ultimately his death. A state court jury returned a
verdict in favor of the Firm's client in the amount of $6.5 million, one
of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the state for the
wrongful death of a person more than 75 years old.
The Firm successfully tried a medical malpractice case involving the
wrongful death of a young family man who underwent gastroenterological
surgery. A multi-million dollar settlement was obtained on behalf of the
decedent’s family just before closing arguments to the jury following a
two-week trial.
Sprague & Sprague obtained a significant monetary settlement in an
obstetrical malpractice case involving the death of a baby shortly after
birth.
We obtained a seven figure settlement on behalf of the estate of a
seventy-five year old pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle backing
into a parking space.
The Firm obtained a multi-million dollar settlement from a trucking
company on behalf of the estate of a passenger in a vehicle that collided
with the company’s jackknifed tractor-trailer.
